Audi are planning on bringing out a new model; the A9. Nobody knows for sure what it will look like but we understand it will be based on the A8, pictured above. Behind the A9 is Audi ’s very talented Head of Research and development Michael Dick, or as Top Gear like to call him, Mick Dick.
Many in the press are asking the rhetorical question; are Audi are heading for world domination of the car market? Most have concluded that they are. That appears to be their plan and certainly our experience is that there seems to be no end to their advance into BMW ’s market share, which is reflected in our ever increasing Audi contract hire sales.
The range of Audi ’s on offer have such a broad appeal; from the brilliant A1 to the luxurious A8; Top Gear described the A8 as an A4 which is more difficult to park but we shouldn’t take Top Gear too seriously, in practice the A8 one of the best luxury cars on the market. We feel the A8 is a better car to drive that the BMW 7 series and has more understated class. BMW leasing sales however exceed A8 sales; understated class is not everybody’s cup of tea.
Soon their will be an A2 Supermini and the A9, which will be based on the A8. We understand it will have four seats as does the BMW X6, which means you can’t have one if you have three children. But then if you have three children, you probably can’t afford one anyway.
The first models are expected to appear in 2014 in coupe form, with the possibility of a convertible a year later. It is estimated that it will cost £75,000 + with engines sizes starting at 3.0 V6. Some industry insiders say they have seen some amazing drawings of the A9 but in any event with Audi ’s track record we know it will be stunning.
Audi Leasing dominates our sales and we understand it is the same for many other contract hire companies. This is a company that seems to get it right every time.
