Peugeot showed off the SXC concept car at The 2011 Shanghai Motor Show; this is a very large hybrid, designed in China. Peugeot is doing very well in China’s ever expanding market; they are expected to sell something in the order of 200,000 cars in China this year.
We generally receive enquiries from clients when a concept car comes out and we have been contacted by clients interested in leasing a Peugeot SCX. We do have to point out however, that it is a concept car and concept cars do not necessarily go into production.
This really is a big vehicle as large as an X5 and it has a sleeker more modern design than some of the other Peugeot models. As it is a concept car, it has cameras rather than door mirrors, although we will have to see how the car eventually turns out, when and if it goes into production. It has impressively large 22 inch alloys.
Peugeot are claiming that the vehicle is capable of 48.7 mpg. Some feel that is very accurate figure to come up with for a concept car and suspect that this is a clue that it will perhaps never go into production; you can say what you like about performance, if you are not going to eventually produce the car.
Peugeot contract hire has always been popular and there are some very attractive Peugeot models at the moment. The Peugeot 308 has become the best selling model in the UK and it is certainly our best selling Peugeot leasing model, followed closely by the 207.
