Kia contract hire is becoming one of our most popular lines; the models are all attractive and well appointed and as a manufacturer they provide something very important; excellent dealer support to our leasing customers.

Kia have released this official photo of their people carrier concept car. A similar  gull wing door was produced was by DeLorian in the early 1980’s.Things didn’t go well for  the DeLorian or indeed for John DeLorian its founder; he was later arrested in an FBI sting and charged with money laundering and drug trafficking. He was acquitted of these charges but did unfortunately go onto personal bankruptcy.

Kia on the other hand has gone from strength to strength; dismissed by some in the early days when it was first launched in the UK, as a cheap Korean manufacturer that wouldn’t be taken seriously. Kia is however a very switched on company, they have their marketing right and they know how to steal the thunder from other manufacturers; as they did when they announced their seven year warranty.

 At a stroke they wrong footed the competition and re-enforced the message that if you buy a Kia it is not going to go wrong; after all why else would they be prepared to provide their cars with a seven year warranty? They certainly stopped the show with this concept vehicle when they launched it at The North American International Auto Show (Detroit), which opened on January 10.

In all probability when this vehicle goes on sale it will not have the gull wing doors but the gull wings have served their purpose; once again making everybody sit up and take notice of this very progressive manufacturer. It is however likely to retain the seats featured in the concept car, which swivel 360 degrees. Overall Kia is to be congratulated on what they have achieved over the years and we expect Kia car leasing to represent an ever increasing share of our business.
