BMW’s Investment into the Mini.

Following Tata’s announcement that they will be investing £5 billion into Land Rover Jaguar over the next five years, BMW have said they will be investing £500 million into the Mini brand, to improve production facilities and develop two new Minis.

This investment will secure 5,000 jobs at the Oxford plant. Nissan have also announced that they are committing 200 million into their UK division. This is thought to be as a result of the government’s commitment to rebalance the economy towards manufacturing.

The new Mini was launched in 2001 and Mini contract hire immediately became one of our most consistent sales lines and it is not hard to see why, the Mini has so much going for it and the figures speak for themselves; in ten years two million Minis have been sold.

The new models are to be a Coupe and a Roadster; to be unveiled sometime during 2012. They will undoubtedly be a big hit, as are all the current Mini leasing models. The most popular models at the moment are as follows:

Mini First is extremely popular; it is a little on the basic side and air conditioning doesn’t come as standard on this model but it’s a Mini and as such it has class. You can lease a Mini First for just £188 plus Vat per moth; very little money to drive a car which is driven by the rich and famous.

The Mini One is rather better appointed than the Mini First but the fact is that all Minis have their drawbacks; such as very little leg room in the rear of the car and a tiny boot. This however doesn’t put off those who choose a Mini , because it has style. To contract hire a Mini One you will need to spend about £213 plus Vat per month.

We have over 180 different Mini Coopers on our website. The Mini was launched in 1959; the Cooper has always been the most desirable model; named after John Cooper who was twice a Formula One world champion. The Cooper S won the Monte Carlo rally for four consecutive years from 1964 to 1967, although it was disqualified in 1966 for a breach of headlight regulations. Mini Cooper contract hire starts at just £217 plus Vat per month.

Over five million of the original the Mini were produced and with two million sold in ten years  and it is looking like the current model is going to beat that figure.
