Vauxhall has announced that there is to be an upgrade available for the Insignia VXR that will allow it to do 170 mph. This is a fairly recent announcement but we have already had enquiries from existing Vauxhall Insignia leasing clients.
The cost of the upgrade is £250 and it removes the Insignia’s speed limiter. The upgraded vehicle will also have a blue logo on the front callipers, along with a new speedometer showing the higher mileage. £250 may no sound a lot but that will be very profitable for Vauxhall .
Vauxhall are saying (rather tongue in cheek) that this car is “for those owners who enjoy driving on the Continent”. Of the clients who lease a Vauxhall Insignia , very few choose the VXR, the clue is in the cost; the entry model Insignia has a monthly cost of £258 plus Vat per month and the VXR, £529. The four wheel version costs rather more at £542 per month.
The Isignia is enjoying a lot of success; it's an excellent vehicle that has a lot of style. There was a time when manufacturers used to bring out just one perhaps two versions of each model, how things have changed; we have on our website 296 different Vauxhall insignia contract hire offers.
